This is the first painting I completed after traveling to North and South Dakota to see the prairie and badlands. I unexpectedly enjoyed the way the remote roads looked winding through the stark formations and rolling landscape. An open road captures the mood of the wide-open space and matches the sharp edges of the eroded formations.
