This tiny family graveyard was on a property that I looked at when searching for a house in Vermont. I love graveyards, and have painted several. I like the contrast of the stones against the landscape, and the feeling of connection with the past and with the earth. I especially loved how these stones, nestled in the shady ferns, set off the rusting old sugar house in the back.

This painting has been mounted in an upcycled frame that is suitable for hanging, replacing, or removing.
